Jim Carrey Withdraws Kick-Ass 2 Support

Star says he's had second thoughts about movie after school shootings...

Jim Carreyis to withdraw from promotional activities for Kick-Ass 2 in the wake of the Sandy Hook school shootings in the US.
The Hollywood star - playing Colonel Stars And Stripes in the tongue-in-cheek comic book sequel - has explained his decision via Twitter.
He wrote: "I did Kickass a month b4 Sandy Hook and now in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence.
"I meant to say my apologies to others involve [sic] with the film. I am not ashamed of it but recent events have caused a change in my heart."
Universal Pictures had not commented on Carrey's decision at the time of going to press.
The eagerly awaited movie is due for release in the UKon August 14.

Writer Mark Millar recently revealed that [uuid=f544ca13-4f98-42fd-9483-8a7d2d1f22cc]Kick-Ass 3 would only happen[/uuid] if the second movie is a box office hit.
