Kiefer Sutherland Assault Charges Dropped
Actor will not be prosecuted over head-butt incident...
Assault charges against actor Kiefer Sutherland have been dropped after a New York district attorney office spokeswoman said it would not chase the case.
Sutherland allegedly head-butted Jack McCollough in a Manhattan nightclub after the fashion designer bumped into actress Brooke Shields, which caused an issue between the two men.
Shields, who is said to be friends with both Sutherland and the victim of the alleged assault said the episode between the pair was ‘unfortunate.’
McCollough later claimed that the actor has broken his nose in the scrap and Kiefer, 42 turned himself in to Police following the incident at the SubMercer nightclub on 5th May.
However, the two men have released a joint statement stating they have settled their differences in which the 24 actor said he: “sincerely regretted that Mr. McCollough was injured”
The NYC district attorney office has added that the case could not be pursued as McCollough would no co-operate with the prosecution and the alleged incident was not serious enough to violate the actor’s probation.
