Kim Kardashian Has Exec Produced A Documentary About Mental Illness & Social Media
#RedFlag will premiere on May 5th – but what should we expect?
Kim Kardashian, Queen of the Selfie, has executive produced a documentary about mental illness and its relationship with social media.
#RedFlag follows the lives of two people, Andrew and Kelly, who are suffering from mental illness. The one-hour special will explore their relationships with social media, with Kelly admitting, “I post all day, everyday on my social media.”
Diagnosed with Bipolar disorder, Kelly uses social media to connect with others in her position, while her family struggle to get through to her when she’s not on medication.
“I am blessed to be surrounded by family and friends that are loving and nurturing, but not everyone has that kind of support,” says Kim K.
“Twenty-five percent of adults in America will suffer from a mental illness in their lifetime, and many of them turn to social media to vent their depression, loneliness and isolation.”
#RedFlag will premiere on May 5th as part of Mental Health Awareness Month.
