Kim Kardashian Is Fighting To Free Another Prisoner Sentenced To Life For Drug Possession

The KUWTK star previously helped Alice Marie Johnson receive a pardon for a low-level drug offence.

Kim Kardashian is working to free another prisoner who was sentenced to life imprisonment for drug possession.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has stated that Chris Young was given an “unfair” punishment and said that she’s determined to help the 30-year-old obtain a release from prison eight years into his sentence.

On a US podcast, Kim revealed that she often talks to the White House about prison reform following the time she helped orchestrate the release of Alice Marie Johnson after the grandmother faced life in prison on similar charges.

Having revealed that Chris was imprisoned for possession of marijuana and less than half a gram of cocaine, she said that the situation is “so unfair” and pointed out that he has since maintained a perfect track record in prison.

"He was saying 'I can stay out of trouble in here [the medical facility], but going in prison there's stabbings, there's this and if you're near that you can get in trouble so easily.

"It's scary when you have a minor drug charge, but then you get life and you're stuck in this crazy maximum security prison with murderers," she added.

Kim is now working alongside Kevin Sharp, the judge who immediately resigned after being forced to sentenceChris to life without parole. His hands were tied by a Tennessee law that states people with two previous convictions are automatically given a life sentence on their third.

We’ll keep you updated on this one as it unfolds.
