Kim Kardashian Isn’t Hiding Her Psoriasis Anymore: ‘I’m Learning To Accept It As Part Of Who I Am’
Kim was first diagnosed with the skin condition in 2010.
Kim Kardashian has opened up about suffering with the skin condition psoriasis, revealing that she doesn’t try and cover it up anymore as she’s ‘really learned to live’ with it.
Yaas, Kim, you megababe you.
Kim, who explained that she was first diagnosed with the chronic condition in 2010, wrote about managing her psoriasis and loving her body on her app, telling subscribers: “I have that one patch on my right leg that is the most visible. I don't even really try to cover it that much anymore. Sometimes I just feel like it's my big flaw and everyone knows about it, so why cover it?
“After this many years, I've really learned to live with it.”
Recalling the first time she discovered she was suffering with the skin condition, Kim explained: “I got it for the first time at the DASH store opening in New York.
“I wore this all-sequin dress and I started getting really itchy; I thought it was just a rash caused by the fabric, but then the rash was COVERING my legs and my mom was like, ‘I think you have psoriasis!!!’ She has it too, and it's hereditary, so she spotted the symptoms immediately.”
For now, Kim is managing the condition by getting a cortisone shot every few years (to ‘help combat the inflammation’) and avoiding acidic foods in her diet.
She added: “Scientists are constantly researching and developing new medications to help treat it, but for now, I use a topical cortisone ointment every night before bed.
"I’m always hoping for a cure, of course, but in the meantime, I'm learning to just accept it as part of who I am.”
