Kim Kardashian's divorce lawyer has jumped to the socialite's defence, insisting that her 72-day marriage was not [uuid=ec524c35-d98e-40bf-ba87-23632e3b811d]a sham[/uuid].
Following her [uuid=df5d3d30-8430-4815-95e1-455f7a2fc8ae]former publicist, Jonathan Jaxson, claims[/uuid] that she married purely for the cameras, Laura Wasser has supported Kimmy - stating she believes her romance with Kris Humphries was genuine.
Speaking of the prenup that had been signed by Kim and Kris, Wasser explained to TMZ that the agreement was so extensive, that both parties had to [uuid=dc7e2ab3-22c7-41e0-9053-b334f920f191]be serious about their marriage. [/uuid]
Wasser revealed to the celebrity gossip website: "Our office did indeed negotiate and prepare a prenup for Ms. Kardashian. Given what I know regarding that document, it is not plausible that this marriage was a sham."
She added that the financial issues which extend "well into the future" were also debated and that their prenup discussions were "prolonged".
Hollywood Gossip also reports that a source pointed out that the 30-page document focuses on every issue, stating: "Why on earth would they create a document which looks far into the future if they planned a marriage that would only last a few months?"
Kim is thought to have filed a lawsuit against [uuid=df5d3d30-8430-4815-95e1-455f7a2fc8ae]Jaxson after he threatened to "spill the beans"[/uuid] on her supposed sham marriage - with Kardashian apparently asking for a cool $200k to make amends for the damage she feels his comments have caused to her reputation.
