Hotel Concierge Held At Gunpoint With Kim Kardashian Speaks Out About The Heist: ‘Nothing was locked, there was no proper security!’
The Hôtel de Pourtalès concierge breaks his silence on the heist, admitting he had huge safety concerns prior to the raid
Let’s hope they invest in some CCTV!
It was the $8million heist that left Kim Kardashian traumatised, and now the Hôtel de Pourtalès’ concierge has finally spoken out about the facility’s lack of security.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the concierge – known only as Abdulrahman - claims that he had previously voiced huge safety concerns, but that hotel bosses didn’t act.
He explained: “There was no real security at all. It’s a choice. The hotel doesn’t mind about security. We told them years and years before, you have to make a camera, you have to put [in place] a security process, about keys.
"Nothing was locked, there was no proper security there."
The robbers forced the concierge to act as their translator while they ransacked the suite.
Kim was left bound and gagged in the bathtub by the masked intruders, who stole millions of dollars worth of jewellery.
Abdulrahman claims the main door’s entrance code hasn’t changed since 2010, despite hosting a string of famous folk, including Brad Pitt and Madonna.
“If you look at that big door, it wasn’t locked, it was open,” Abdulrahman continued. “We talked about it and nobody cared. The code of the door was never changed and everybody knew it.
“There is a camera in the main wall of the hotel, behind the big red [front] doors, but it didn’t work for years.”
He is now said to be taking legal action against the owners of the hotel for the pain and suffering the incident caused him.
Kim has since abandoned her social media profiles and rescheduled any promotional events for 2017.
We hope to see Kim out and about again soon!
