Kim Kardashian's Plea To Donald Trump Pays Off As Alice Johnson Is Released From Prison
Donald Trump commuted Alice Johnson's sentence on Wednesday.
Kim Kardashian recently made headlines around the world after meeting with President Trump to discuss prison reform in the United States, particularly focusing on a woman called Alice Johnson, who was given a life sentence for a non-violent drug offence.
And now Donald Trump has commuted the sentence of the 63-year-old, who was convicted in 1996, and she was released a few hours after The White House made the announcement on Wednesday.

Kim took to Twitter to reveal it was the "BEST NEWS EVER!!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼," and to thank the president and everyone who: "showed compassion & contributed countless hours to this important moment for Ms. Alice Marie Johnson."
Plus she said her first phone call with Alice: "will forever be one of my best memories."
Alice (a first time, non-violent offender) became known after Kim started lobbying on her behalf, with the star heading to the White House last week to meet with Trump.
Kim previously opened up to Mic about why she’s so passionate about the case, telling them: “Where I am at in my life right now, spending my money buying material things just doesn't satisfy me the way it used to. To save someone's life, and do that once a year, would make my heart fuller."
The headlines then made their way back to Alice, who penned an emotional letter to the 38-year-old that made it on to her Instagram page: “Ms Kardashian you are literally helping to save my life and restore me to my family.
“I was drowning and you have thrown me a life jacket and given me hope that this Life jacket I'm serving may one day be taken off. I am so humbled by what you are doing and have already done on my behalf.
She added: "I believe that history will record that Kim Kardashian had the courage to take a stand against human warehousing. A million trillion thanks! May God's blessings rest upon you and yours. THE BATTLE IS ON.”
This battle has officially been won.
