The Kardashian Klan got a right royal reception when touching down in Armenia on Wednesday (April 8), with the family greeted by huge cheering crowds eagerly awaiting their arrival.

Kim Kardashian was joined by hubby Kanye West and daughter North for the trip, with sister Khloe Kardashian also coming along for the ride.

As they made their way through the airport, they were met by women in traditional dress offering bread and salt - a tradition for greeting VIPs.

Clearly overwhelmed by their welcome, Kim took to Instagram to post a pic of the gathering crowd, writing: “Armenia we are here!!!!! We are so grateful to be here & start this journey of a lifetime!

Sister Khloe also added: “The love and welcoming to Armenia has been overwhelmingly beautiful!!! I wholeheartedly, can't believe all of you Angels who are outside our hotel with flowers and smiles.

“Im incredibly eager to get some sleep and see Armenia in the day light! I hope I'm able to sleep. I'm so excited to be here!!”

She also posted a video of the chaos that greeted herself, Kimye and North.

Kim later took to the image-sharing website to share a totally adorable shot of Yeezy and North - who was sporting some rather cute curls - captioning the pic: “My husband and daughter came to Armenia as well to see my heritage and learn about my ancestors! My cousins came along too! So excited I can't sleep.”

The Kardashian’s late father Robert was of Armenian-American descent, with Kimmy’s rep denying that their visit has anything to do with the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

Instead, the 34-year old has insisted that she just simply wanted to get in touch with her Armenian roots.

Talking of roots, Kim has gone back to black after recently dying her hair platinum blonde, while sister Khloe opted for lighter locks for the trip.
