Kings Of Leon's Caleb: “I’ve Never Been To Rehab”

Singer Caleb Followill discusses rumours of alcoholism in new interview…

Kings Of Leon’s lead singer Caleb Followill has spoken out about his issues with alcohol in a new interview.
In July 2011, [uuid=9785ceaa-6a8e-43e4-a95d-234c87ee209d]the band cancelled their tour of the US[/uuid] citing “internal sicknesses and problems” as the reason for abandoning the shows.
Followill has since opened up about his drinking and addressed his recent change in lifestyle, telling The Telegraph:
“I’ve never been to rehab, I just stopped. I enjoyed rediscovering what it’s like to be normal, and not play the role people expect. It opened my eyes to a lot of stuff.”
The 31-year-old pointed out that he does still drink, but enjoys sobriety too. He added: “It doesn’t mean there aren’t gonna be times when we all want to cut loose and let our hair down. But I enjoy not drinking.”
He then joked: “Next time you see me, you’ll probably be saying, well, that didn’t last long."
Followill, his two brothers, Nathan and Jared, and cousin Matthew will play a show in London next month (September 11) as part of the iTunes Festival at the Roundhouse in Camden.
The Nashville band’s new LP Mechanical Bull is their sixth studio album and is due for release on September 24.
