You'll Never Guess Which Pop Superstar Just Joined The 'Kingsman' Sequel
This we would definitely pay to see.
The Rocketman announced the news via his Instagram feed, saying “it’s been a long time since Tommy”, a reference to one of his rare silver-screen appearances.
However, even though it sounds a bit mad on paper, director Matthew Vaughn has apparently been trying to get Elton involved for a while. “I was umming and ahhing because [the first film] had a whole fun subplot about celebrities being kidnapped,” he said in an interview last year. “And I had an idea of, who’s the worst celebrity you’d want to have locked in a cell? And I came up with Elton John, and having Elton John throwing these huge tantrums. And then I wanted to do an action scene of Elton John kicking the living daylights out of people.”
Yep, this is something we would definitely pay to see. The sequel will see the action expand across the Atlantic, with the Kingsmen encountering their Stateside counterparts, including Halle Berry, Channing Tatum and Pedro Pascal.
It’s also been strongly rumoured that Colin Firth’s gentleman badass Harry Hart will return in some capacity, while Julianne Moore is on boo-hiss duties as the villain.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle will open on 16 June 2017, now with added Elton…
