Liberty Ross, the wife of Snow White And The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, has spoken out his affair with leading lady Kristen Stewart.

Sanders and Stewart caused a media frenzy in July of last year when [uuid=094379a4-e210-4aa9-b8ea-1ed48fc910ed]paparazzi photos of them kissing and embracing[/uuid] in Los Angeles were published by US Weekly.

Ross, [uuid=0d4d76c6-cb88-4091-baf6-8624588cc9a1]who has since divorced[/uuid] her husband of 16 years, admits in a new interview with Vanity Fair that the betrayal was "horrible".

The 35-year-old model-turned-actress revealed: "It was horrible. It was really the worst, really the worst.”

She continued: “I have no words to describe what we went through. But I think, for me, something always has to completely die for there to be a rebirth. And, for me, I feel like I’m going through a rebirth.”

When the affair was made public, Twilight star Kristen [uuid=094379a4-e210-4aa9-b8ea-1ed48fc910ed]made a public apology[/uuid] to then-boyfriend Robert Pattinson for the "hurt and embarrassment" caused by her "momentary indiscretion".

Ross said Sanders told her of the affair just 20 hours before the news broke. She then retreated to a friend's home where could remain out of the public eye.

She recalled: “I was able to be there completely secluded. I just visualized [being] this sort of Masai warrior. I was just going to stand very still and very strong, and just let it all roll past me.

"I tried to keep as far away from it as I could and to understand that this is my family and it’s the most precious thing to me.”

Despite Sanders [uuid=57d4e234-3a41-49e9-bfe9-19696c160bd3]issuing his own public apology[/uuid] and making efforts to reconcile with Ross, she admits she knew their marriage was over.

She told the publication: “I’m not a quitter. I’ve done everything I could to be the perfect wife and mother and really support my husband. But I just didn’t have any more to give, you know?”
