The Kylie Jenner Vs. Kylie Minogue Legal Battle Over Their Name Has Come To An End
But who came out on top?
It has been reported that from this moment on, the name Kylie legally refers to Minogue, not Jenner.
Yes, the legal battle over the trademarking of their shared first name has come to an end with the legendary pop singer coming out on top.
The long drawn out process between the two started in 2014 when Jenner attempted to trademark her first name.
However, Kylie Minogue, who has already trademarked her for services in education and entertainment, opposed the application, citing that Jenner was ‘a secondary reality television personality who appeared on the television series Keeping Up With the Kardashians as a supporting character.’
Somewhat awkwardly, it would seem someone agreed with Kylie Minogue’s summation as according to the Daily Mail the reality star's application was rejected by the United States’ Patent and Trademark Office last week.
Not to be deterred, Kylie Jenner has apparently already lodged an appeal.
But will she win out this time around? She should be so lucky.
WE'RE HERE ALL WEEK.
