The Unexpected Reason Kylie Jenner Definitely *Didn't* Name Stormi After Butterflies
Fans had been convinced the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was dropping hints.
Forget all the random af clues fans have been piecing together to convince themselves that Kylie Jenner named her firstborn after a butterfly because it turns out the 20-year-old reality star is actually beyond terrified of the insect.
The rumours that Stormi Webster had been named for the winged creature began with a bunch of butterfly motifs in her pregnancy video and continued with a pretty outlandish fan theory related to the butterfly effect.
While we're here, let's get checking out a bunch of times Kylie Jenner proved she was the unrivalled titan of selfies...
For anyone unfamiliar with chaos theory, the saying goes that if a butterfly flaps its wings on one side of the planet, it can trigger a hurricane (eg. a massive storm) on the other side of the world. Seeing the pretty tenuous connection, here?
But it turns out we’re all way off base when it comes to getting to the bottom of the name meaning, as Kylie revealed in a September episode of E! show Life Of Kylie that she’s actually petrified of the animal.
The situation went down when she and BFF Jordyn Woods visited a butterfly sanctuary in London, with Kylz flinching her way through the whole experience: “It’s kind of just ironic because I’m terrified, terrified of butterflies,” she admitted.
“All butterflies. This is how I think of them, cut the wings off and if you just look at their bodies, they’re not that pretty. It’s literally a bug,” she said.
This is all pretty confusing since Kylie has decorated Stormi’s nursery with images of butterflies, has a depiction of one inked onto her ankle, and was recently gifted a bedazalled butterfly necklace from boyfriend Travis Scott.
We're taking this as a major sign we should stop second-guessing Kylie's decisions.
