Kylie Minogue is to receive the prestigious Music Industry Trusts Award becoming the first woman to get the prize.

The Pop Princess will be presented with the award on October 29 in front of assembled music big-wigs

Previous winners who are all male and rock dinosaurs include Elton John, Sir George Martin and Peter Gabriel. Not quite as glamourous as Kylie then!

The gong rewards the pint sized stars 20 year pop career and also raises money for important charities.

Kylie said: It is an incredible honour to be the recipient of this years Music Industry Trusts Award and I am truly thrilled to be recognized in this way.

As well as being a fantastic evening, this award ceremony also raises much needed funds for The Brit Trust and Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy and it is a pleasure for me to be involved.
