Kylie Gets OBE

Kylie has bagged herself an OBE in the New Years Honours list.

The 2 Hearts singer- who released her tenth album in November- receives the award for services to music.

She said: I feel deeply touched to be acknowledged by the UK, my adopted home, in this way it is with absolute gratitude and joy that I say farewell to 2007 and look forward to what the New Year will bring.

Other music stars being given awards by the Queen are slightly less sexy. Soul II Soul mainman Jazzie B gets an OBE while Jethro Tulls Ian Anderson is awarded a MBE.
