Kylie Still Struggles With Cancer Treatment

Kylie Minogue reveals how side effects from cancer drugs leave her in tears...

Kylie Minogue has spoken of her struggle with the cancer drugs she must take daily until her five-year all-clear, coming up in early 2011. Side effects include extreme nausea and headaches.

“Trust me, I have been in floods of tears at my oncologist, saying, ‘I can’t stand it, get me off this stuff,’ Kylie revealed. “And then he will become very stern and say, ‘We have to cure you,’ so you have to carry on with it because it works.

“I will finish early next year, and that will be amazing. But I’ve also heard that you can feel quite insecure when you first come off it because you have relied on this medication for so long. It’s going to be a big adjustment.”

The 42-year-old star recently put her Chelsea flat on the market and bought a five-bedroom mansion in the same street, sparking rumours she’s keen to start a family with her boyfriend of two years, Spanish model Andrés Velencoso.

But the All The Lovers singer admited that motherhood might not be in her future. “If I don’t have children I will at least be able to invest that love in my nephews,” she said. Kylie is an aunty to Dannii’s son Ethan and her brother Brendan’s two boys, aged four and two.

For now, her priority is her upcoming tour – Kylie recently announced her first tour in three years, Aphrodite - Les Folies, and she is rumoured to be headlining Glastonbury 2011 after she pulled out five years ago when she got her initial breast cancer diagnosis.
