Some of their tracks have been deemed a threat to Chinese culture…
Songs by the chart-toppers appear on a blacklist of 100 tracks from China's Ministry of Culture, which they are considering banning from all of the country’s music websites.
The ministry has announced that all the tracks must be submitted for mandatory government screening or they will be banned and removed from China’s legal streaming and download services.
GaGa will open the 2011 MTV VMAs, which will be filmed at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday 28 August and shown on MTV UK on Monday 29 August.
