Mother Monster - who known for her outrageous costumes - took on Dorothy, Glinda The Good Witch and The Wicked Witch Of The West during her appearance on the US show.
Lady G was also joined by the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion to act out her rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow, before throwing herself into Applause with the help of some quick costume changes.
The audience also played a part in the performance, dressed as poppies whilst the ARTPOP princess graced the yellow brick road stage.
Speaking of her performance, Gaga said: "I love being on stage and I love Good Morning America so much and I wanted fans to be a part of the performance because they don't normally get to do that."
The 27-year old went on to explain that her Wizard of Oz-inspired performance was almost symbolic of her career, stating: "I think it really is an explanation for my entire career so far.
"It's my way of saying that all the outfits and wigs... this is my way of simulating and surviving and my way of getting to Oz and having all my dreams come true."
The Poker Face hitmaker, who has recovered from hip surgery, also talked about being happier in her career, thanking her fans and said: "I'm having a really good time and I'm just so happy to be here.
"I know it's been five years since I first came up with 'Just Dance' but I still can't believe my life... touring the world [and] having my own artistic freedom.”
Her new album ARTPOP is due for release November 11 and will feature lead single, Applause.
