Lady GaGa has announced details of her upcoming album ARTPOP, as well as telling fans that the first single is on the way.

The Born This Way singer reportedly unveiled information about her new material at a dinner party in New York last night (11 July), and released further details about ARTPOP on her Facebook page.

Along with a photo of the star wearing oversized goggles, GaGa revealed on Facebook that the first single would be out on 19 August.

And the long-awaited album will be available to pre-order on 1 September, ahead of its 11 November release.

What's more, an app will be released alongside the album, and was described on the page as a "musical and visual engineering system" combining music, art, fashion and technology.

The info read: "Exploring GaGa's existence as a cultural interface, the user will share in the 'adrenaline of fame' as they build and share their own projects, chat with one another, and watch in real-time on a virtual globe as ARTPOP explodes onto the physical and virtual universe at once on November 11, our 'BIG BANG!'."

The Judas star has been out of action for eight months following a [uuid=366263a8-4cfc-4412-a493-7bfd48cfeeee]hip operation[/uuid], but will reportedly be [uuid=5deec43c-742e-4d56-a6aa-60aeb4fd0ef5]back on stage at this year's iTunes festival[/uuid] in September.
