Lady Gaga Has Beaten Beyoncé And Taylor Swift To This Chart Record
It's been a good year for Mother Monster...
Lady Gaga has just claimed her fourth Number One album on the Billboard 200 albums chart, with Joanne shooting up into the top spot.
Released on October 27, Gaga’s Joanne is the fourth-largest album this year, with only Frank Ocean’s Blonde, Beyoncé’s Lemonade and Drake’s Views (in that order) selling more.
But this isn’t the only notable nugget of information about Lady Gaga’s latest success.
As Billboard noted, Gaga is now the first woman with four No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 in the 2010s. This means that Gaga has now passed Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, each with three during the decade.
Among all acts, Justin Bieber and Drake (nothing can stop the 6 god) lead with six Billboard 200 No. 1's each since 2010, while One Direction and Kanye West each boast four.
In other Lady Gaga news, the 'Perfect Illusion' singer appeared on James Corden's Carpool Karaoke segment last week - and it was brilliant. Check that out over here.
Also, MTV spoke to Lady Gaga recently about the inspiration behind Joanne, and you can watch that right here.
