Lady Gaga Calls VMAs 'Video Monster Awards'

'Breakin records+breakin rules,' singer tweets to her 'little monsters'...

Lady Gaga is making history again: When the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards roll around September 12, the star will have 13 chances to try to take home a Moonman!

"13 VMA noms lil monsters. Breakin records+breakin rules," she tweeted yesterday when the nominations went public. "I love you, you Bad Kids are a part of me. PAWS UP! #VideoMonsterAwards."

Gaga's nominations include Video of the Year for Bad Romance, where she is not only competing against the likes of Eminem, Florence and the Machine, 30 Seconds to Mars, and B.o.B featuring Hayley Williams, she's also up against herself for her Beyoncé collabo, Telephone.
Gaga also finds herself nominated for Best Pop Video (twice), Best Dance Video, Best Collaboration (twice) and Best Female Video (twice), just to name a few. She's also the first woman to be nominated twice in the Video of the Year category.
"I'm so honored for all the little monsters and self-professed freaks of the universe, to have more VMA nominations in a single year than any artist in MTV history. Ironically, I'm even more proud it's an unlucky number: 13." Lady Gaga said in a statement about her record-breaking year.
"A long time ago, the world told me and my little monsters we would never be heard. Together we changed the rules. God put me on Earth for three reasons: to make loud music, gay videos and cause a damn ruckus. Thank you, MTV!"
