Lady Gaga Has Hip Op, But She Don't Stop Tweeting
Pop megastar stays in touch with fans as she prepares to go under knife...
Lady Gaga has undergone surgery for her inflamed joints - and has been thanking fans for their support before and after her op.
The pop star has been suffering from synovitis, a severe inflammation of the joints, and was forced to cancel part of her Born This Way Ball tour earlier this month as a result.
Just before her op she tweeted: "Going in for surgery now. Thank you so much for sending me love and support. I will be dreaming of you."
And once the operation was over she took to her blog to update her "Little Monsters".
She wrote: "Monsters, you really gave me a lot of strength today.
"As they wheeled me into surgery today, I thought about all of your pain and perseverance, your unique family situations.
"I thought to myself, 'I'm alive, I'm living my dream and this is just a bump in the road.' I'm grateful because this is temporary and for some it is not."
Gaga had previously apologised to fans for having to cancel some of her shows. It is unknown yet whether they will be rescheduled.
She has been using a wheelchair to help lessen the stress on her painful joints.
