Lady GaGa: I Enjoy Being A Role Model

 

The singer took time out from her Monster Ball tour this week to promote the new MAC Viva Glam HIV/ Aids awareness campaign.

 

 

Asked if her own image could get misinterpreted as promiscuous GaGa told us: “It’s that kind of mentality that makes women insecure and have sex without using a condom. 

 

“It’s Russian roulette… It’s really scary and it’s exactly that kind of mentality that I want to challenge. I want all of my fans, all of my beautiful fans that I look out to at the O2 Arena every night to feel confident and empowered and not insecure like they don’t fit in and like they need to do crazy things to be loved.”

 

The Bad Romance singer- who today announced threee new UK gigs- also spoke to MTV about being a role model.

 

She said: “I think that to say you’re not a role model if you’re in the public eye is a lie. Whether you like it or not you have young people looking up to you and looking to you for answers

 

“I enjoy being a role model and I believe I have a lot to offer when it comes to Viva Glam and to finding your identity through self expression and confidence through your own personal passions.”
