Lady GaGa has hit out at criticism of her weight, declaring that "society is ugly".
The pop star had been noted by some internet users to have been sporting a fuller figure in recent months - but has hit back at her critics on her own Little Monsters site.
She posted a quote (most likely wrongly) attributed to Marilyn Monroe, which read: "To all the girls that think you're ugly because you're not a size 0, you're the beautiful one. It's society who's ugly."
And she also thanked her devoted fans for their unwavering support.
She continued: "Thank[s] to my fans who love me no matter what, and know the meaning of real beauty&compassion. I really love you."
GaGa has previously admitted that she has put on a bit of weight - blaming her dad's Italian restaurant in New York.
