Lady GaGa has won an award for being the most played artist of the year on UK radio stations.

The announcement was made last night at the PRS For Music Hall Of Fame dinner in Manchester.

Unsurprisingly the star was not there to receive her gong. Announcing the news Helena Kosinski from Nielsen Soundscan - who measure the figures - said:

“Lady Gaga has had phenomenal success during 2010, ratcheting up an enormous number of radio plays in the last year.

“With over 275,000 radio plays, she was clearly the front runner for this award.”

Tracks including Bad Romance, Telephone and Alejandro have helped the star gain massive amounts of airplay.
