Lady Gaga's New Album Is Inspired By American Horror Story & Will Be 'Less Painful' Than ARTPOP

The singer revealed all to James Franco…

Lady Gaga has been putting her music to the side while starring as The Countess in 'American Horror Story', however, they might be more linked than it first appears.

The 29-year-old sat down with her friend and fellow actor James Franco where he interviewed her for 'V Magazine' - a special edition marking the publication 99th issue, edited by Gaga herself.

She revealed how working on 'AHS: Hotel'allowed her have more clarity when writing music, admitting: "When I wasn't working on the show I was truly miserable because I had no safe house to get out any of my vices."

She continued: "Now I have a safe house for my vices so when I'm making music I just have a lot more clarity. I have a little less of an instinct to be reckless with my music now because I'm reckless in other places."

As well as this, Gaga admitted that actinghas changed her perspective on how she writes music and what she wants to say on her new album.

She explained: "I'm thinking more about what it is I want to say and what I want to leave on Earth. It's less an expression of all my pain. There will be some of my pain on the record for sure, but it will be more than that."

Reflecting on her last album, 'ARTPOP', she said: "My last album was riddled with a ton of pain. That whole record. It's almost like you couldn't even get to what it is. Now, the show gives me an outlet to put things somewhere, so when I get to the piano I'm in a deeper place already. I have something completely other to explore."

Surely all this means we'll be getting a new album sooner than we think? We sure hope so.
