What You Missed In Music: Glastonbury Announcement, Lady Gaga And More
Had a busy week? Catch up on this week's music news here...
Glastonbury won’t be on in 2018
Festival season might be starting to wind down, but we’re already starting to look forward to when it all shoots back into life next summer. Bestival have announced that they’ve already booked one headliner for 2017, and Glastonbury came out this week some news of their own, confirming that 2018 will indeed be a fallow year.
A statement from the festival organisers read: “We can also confirm that we will be taking our next fallow year in 2018, in order to give the farm, the village and the festival team the traditional year off. There are no plans to hold an event at another location in 2018.”
That, of course, means we still have the 2017 edition looming ahead.
Tickets for 2017’s event will go on sale from 6 October, with the festival taking place from 21 to 25 June 2017. Prices have continued to increase (Glastonbury is still worth it though), with one adult ticket setting you back £238 + £5 booking fee.
Lady Gaga In Talks to Play Super Bowl Halftime Show
According to Billboard’s sources, Lady Gaga is in talks to play one of the biggest gigs going: the Super Bowl Halftime show.
"We have had conversations with several fantastic artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, at this point we do not have a final decision," an NFL rep told Billboard when asked about Gaga. "We’re happy there is so much excitement about the show."
