Lana Del Rey Covers Once Upon A Dream For Angelina Jolie's 'Maleficent'

The Summertime Sadness singer will be featured in the upcoming Disney flick...

One of the Grammy Awards’ most magical moments took place during the ad-break on Sunday night, when Disney aired a Maleficent trailer featuring the vocal stylings of Lana Del Rey.

Lana has covered the classic track Once Upon A Dream for the upcoming live-action movie, which stars Angelina Jolie as Maleficent and Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora.

The song comes from the 1959 film Sleeping Beauty, on which Maleficent is loosely based. Lana has added her trademark sultry vocals to an updated version of the track, which will play over the film’s closing credits.

The film, which is scheduled for release on 30th May 2014, explores Maleficent’s back story, including her reasons for cursing Princess Aurora. Jolie’s daughter, Vivienne, also makes a cameo in the film as young Aurora.

Lana’s cover of Once Upon A Time is expected to be out on 4th February.

Despite the track airing during the awards show last night, Lana skipped out on the Grammys ceremony, where she was nominated for Best Pop Vocal for Paradise and Best Song Written for Visual Media for Young and Beautiful.
