Lily Allen And Damon Albarn Rock Latitude Festival
Sheezus star silences doubters with storming set as weather closes in...
Lily Allen and Damon Albarn have headlined the first two nights of the Latitude Festival in Suffolk.
Sheezus singer Lily, 29, was a controversial late replacement for Two Door Cinema Club as Friday's headliners - but shut up her critics with a confident performance.
She was wearing hotpants and a white T-shirt bearing the name of the band she was covering for, which she soon removed to reveal and skimpy bandeau top.
Beginning with her own LDN and then a cover of Two Door's Something Good Can Work - she showed off her twerking skills (ironically of course) along with her live vocal prowess.
"I'm sorry I'm not Two Door Cinema Club," she said. "But I promise I'll give it my all."
Her set included Smile, Hard Out Here, Sheezus, URL Badman, The Fear and It's Not Fair.
Then last night Blur frontman Damon took to the old Joanna during his end-of-show performance - and was joined by former bandmate Graham Coxon for part of his set.
The two performed Tender together, with Albarn explaining: "There are some Blur songs I can play on the piano, but this one would be impossible without the man I wrote it with."
Other acts at the music, comedy and arts festival included Bombay Bicycle Club, Royskopp and Robyn - with Simon Amstell and Dara O'Briain providing the laughs.
The weather forecast for tonight's festival-closing performance by The Black Keys looks gloomy, so we expect a sea of Cath Kidson umbrellas in the photo coverage.
I don't troll, I make statements
I'm not a cliché sittin' in my PJ's
Double cupping at lunch on a Tuesday
I'm like Drake, see? So don't hate me
I get vexed if you don't appreciate me
Real talk, I'll put the world to rights
So when I'm a big boy, I'm gonna write for Vice
It's not for me? It must be wrong
I could ignore it and move on
But I'm a Broadband Champion
A U-R-L Badman
And if you're tryna call it art
I'll have to take it all apart
I got a high-brow game plan
A U-R-L Badman
I'm a U-R-L B-A-D-M-A-N with no empathy
I got a high-brow game plan
A U-R-L Badman
I'm a U-R-L B-A-D-M-A-N and you're dead to me
'Cause I'm a Broadband Champion
A U-R-L Badman
