Lauren Jauregui Shuts Down Homophobia With Kickass Comment About Society

Praise hand emojis necessary

The latest bit of evidence to prove that Lauren Jauregui is a great human comes in the form of her new interview with Out Magazine, which sees her shutting down the homophobia that she faces in the public eye.

Lauren, who came out in 2016 via a fierce letter to Trump supporters for Billboard magazine, didn’t hold back when she openly addressed the hate that she’s received over her sexuality.

Revealing that she’s been on the receiving end of ridiculous abuse for photos of her and her girlfriend, Lauren said honestly: “People still talk shit.”

Totally nailing the scale of things worth worrying about in the world right now, Lauren went on: “It’s like, why does it make you feel gross?

“You can watch a kid get bombed and not do anything about it, but you can’t watch me kiss my girlfriend? Go f**k yourself.”

Lauren, who’s been openly bisexual with fans for almost a year now, was equally proud of her identity when it came to addressing the subject with record label bosses, who were keen to keep things quiet for the sake of the band's image.

“A lot of artists are held back by the notion that they’ll lose their fan base or alienate themselves,” she admitted.

“Even friends and family would tell me to keep it to myself.”

But luckily, Lauren felt strong enough to speak openly about her sexuality with Fifth Harmony fans. She explained: “The more I thought about it, the more I was like, why?”

Can we just give the girl some praise hand emojis and crown emojis to be constantly floating around her at all times? It'd make our life loads easier.
