‘i’m so tired...’: Troye Sivan and Lauv Talk Playing Love Ghosts And Riding On Sunroofs In MTV Laid Bare

We may be tired but never of this song...

‘i’m so tired...’ by Lauv and Troye Sivanis officially the sad pop bop of the century. Facts. Released at the start of the year to get us through those January blues, the duo gave us the collab we never knew we needed, and could now officially never live without.

Giving us everything we want and more (because when do these guys not?), Troye and Lauv released a music video for their new track, and it is everything. Officially. Everything. It sees the boys acting as ‘love ghosts’ and going after all the loved up couples around them, ruining their dates and cute scenes… honestly, we relate.

Dropping by to breakdown the music video for us, the guys got seriously deep into the concept behind it… and you can watch it right here:

Unable to come up with a definitive idea of whether all the couples were real or not, Troye revealed "and they were real couples - all of the couples in the video, were real couples. So they were like, fine to make out and stuff", whereas Lauv thought they "were just hooking up." Honestly, guys, WHAT is the TRUTH?

Lauv also revealed that it was super awks filming some of the scenes whilst seriously invading those couples' personal space: “Sitting on the table was really awkward because they were like, eating food under me.”

It was also FREEZING when the boys were filming, and Troye had to deal with a pretty uncomfy pants sitch: “Couple fun facts. Number one under those jeans was a gnarly harness that’s really yanking me in all the wrong places, strapping me to the car through the sunroof.” Yikes. He continued: “And it was so cold on that roof. Like, I’m trying to look relaxed and stuff and it was tough.” Well, we think you look super chill, Troye.

On the concept as a whole, the boys revealed why they were ruining the couples' lives: “Basically the concept of the video is there’s like these couples living their lives and being all romantic and we’re like ghosts like they’re not aware of us” said Lauv. Troye added: “[We’re] just like, love ghosts who have been burned and hurt and who have decided to take it out on happy, loving couples.”

Being invisible and third wheeling couples to purposefully destroy their happiness? Sounds like a normal Saturday night out to us.
