Lea Michele: "I Want People To Know Who I Really Am"

Glee star is ready to break out of character...

Lea Michele has opened up about graduating from Glee, the TV show that made her a star, as well as her new solo music career.

"It's really scary 'cause this is all me. But I think that this is the obvious, like, natural next step,” the Canonball singer told MTV News US.

But that doesn’t mean Lea has forgotten her roots: “I think that Glee is the greatest blessing that's ever come into my life,” she added.

She is ready, however, to introduce people to the girl behind the preppy sweaters and knee socks: “I've played a character for so long, singing these cover songs, which has been so awesome, and now I'm kind if ready to let people know who Lea Michele really is,” explained Lea.

Lea is also gearing up for the release of her first solo album, Louder, which comes out next March and includes two tracks she wrote after her boyfriend – and Glee co-star – Cory Monteith passed away over the summer.

Of the record, Lea said: “It's just a really an incredible, somehow, explanation of what this past year of my life has been like.”

Her next career ambition is to tour the world. “Hopefully, eventually, at some point I'll be able to,” she said. “I know that with Glee we are so lucky to have the most incredible fanbase all over the world, so I really, really hope I get the opportunity soon to do a tour, to get to see all the fans all over the world and bring this album to them."
