Leona Lewis: 'I Recorded We Found Love First'

Singer reported to have said her version of song is better…

Leona Lewis claims that she recorded Rihanna, reports The Daily Star Sunday.

The X Factor star reportedly said that she was originally given the Calvin Harris song and that her version was better.
The paper quotes her as saying: “I worked with Calvin and we recorded We Found Love. But he went touring with Rihanna and she ended up releasing it.

"I didn’t commit to it because I wanted Trouble to be my first single so I think that was another reason they went with Rihanna. It was the same version and production but mine’s better.”
The song went to No.1 in 25 countries – [uuid=658c9345-ac5b-4f60-8496-aae90cfac64a]spending three weeks at the top in the UK[/uuid] – and sold 6.5million copies.
The Bleeding Love singer continued: “I still have the recording but I’d never leak it. That’s so unprofessional.
“There are so many songs I’ve recorded, only to hear other people singing them. It happens all the time."

However, Leona did admit that her version may not have been so successful.

She added: “It was a bit annoying to see how big a hit it was around the world but if I’d released it maybe it wouldn’t have done as well.”
Leona’s third album, Glassheart, is out on release today.
