Who's Our Number One?
Leona and Black Eyed Peas Battle it out for chart domination...
Pop heavyweights Leona Lewis and the Black Eyed Peas are currently in a classic battle for this week’s number one single. The two artists, whose most recent albums are flying off the shelves, are virtually tied for the number one spot.
The Black Eyed Peas’ The E.N.D., out since June 9, 2009, has been a constant feature on the charts with one successful single after another. Their current hit, Meet Me Halfway (the third single off the album) has yet to reach number one.
Will this week see the group’s triumphant return to the top position on the charts? Not if Leona Lewis can help it.
Happy, the lead single for her newest album, Echo, is a ballad about finding (you guessed it!) happiness. Within two days of hitting the shelves in the UK, the single had sold in huge numbers. The song has continued to climb the UK and US charts, as well as those in Australia, Sweden, Japan, New Zealand, and the Netherlands.
Let the battle begin.
