Lewis Capaldi Announces Arena Tour Ahead of Debut Album And Sets Up Anxiety And Panic Support For Attendees
Lewis Capaldi is making history as an artist going above and beyond to help his fans.
After the release of his hugely successful single ‘Someone You Loved’, which charted for 7 weeks at number one, Capaldi has just announced his arena tour, spanning across 6 dates over the UK - including London’s SSE Wembley Arena in March of 2020.
The news makes Lewis one of the first artists in history to announce an arena tour before releasing his debut album.
This all or nothing really got a way of driving me crazy
I need somebody to heal
Somebody to know
Somebody to have
Somebody to hold
It's easy to say, but it's never the same
I guess I kinda liked the way you numbed all the pain
Now the day bleeds into nightfall
And you're not here
To get me through it all
I let my guard down
And then you pulled the rug
I was getting kinda used to being someone you loved
I'm going under and this time I fear there's no one to turn to
This all or nothing way of loving got me sleeping without you
Now, I need somebody to know
Somebody to heal
Somebody to have
Just to know how it feels
It's easy to say, but it's never the same
I guess I kinda liked the way you helped me escape
Now the day bleeds into nightfall
And you're not here
To get me through it all
I let my guard down
And then you pulled the rug
I was getting kinda used to being someone you loved
And I tend to close my eyes when it hurts sometimes
I fall into your arms
I'll be safe in your sound 'til I come back around
For now the day bleeds into nightfall
And you're not here
To get me through it all
I let my guard down
And then you pulled the rug
I was getting kinda used to being someone you loved
But now the day bleeds into nightfall
And you're not here
To get me through it all
I let my guard down
And then you pulled the rug
I was getting kinda used to being someone you loved
I let my guard down
And then you pulled the rug
I was getting kinda used to being someone you loved
The tour also includes two nights at Manchester O2 Apollo, one night at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro, and one night at Cardiff Motorpoint Arena. The news comes after Lewis sold out his headline UK tour, consisting of over 150,000 tickets.
Not only is the MTV Push: Ones To Watch winner playing the huge venues, but he has also launched the first special and unique fan experience where people attending his concerts who experience anxiety or panic attacks, or any other emotional difficulties, can acquire support by following the signposted help points inside every venue.
The team will all be expertly trained to help and assist fans with any anxiety, panic, or other concerns they may have. The extra 50p ahead of each sale ticket will go towards providing a team at each venue.
Lewis spoke on the initiative, announcing: “I always get tonnes of messages from people online who have said they want to come to my shows but can’t because they’re struggling massively with anxiety or are just generally afraid they will have a panic attack during the show. I really wanted to put something in place to help those people feel comfortable and offer them support to allow them to experience the shows. I hate to feel that anyone’s anxiety is making them miss out on anything they want to do and LIVELIVE is my attempt at helping make these shows enjoyable for as many of those people who have been supporting this journey for me!”
From today, fans can reach out with any concerns they may have approaching the tour and speak with a qualified support advisor at the email address: livelive@lewiscapaldi.co.uk
If contacted 24 hours before, Lewis’ team can also arrange for you to be met and taken into the venue to make you feel safer and more comfortable.
Lewis has also established a buddy system for fans traveling alone.
