First Look At Liam Neeson In 'Taken 3'
The actor returns as badass dad Bryan Mills, but this time it's him on the run...
After two successful films, a three-quel was almost guaranteed for the Taken franchise. But where do you go? If you're Liam Neeson's ex-CIA officer Bryan Mills, it's on the lam after you're framed for a murder you didn't commit.
It's a concept new to the series, which has traditionally seen Neeson's character pursuing crime syndicates. But the fundamentals are the same: Mills is an ass-kicking hero who doesn't back down.
"I have to go on the run, I'll put it that way, from the not-so-lawful types and the lawful authorities," Neeson told USA Today.
"Bryan Mills served his country faithfully, but now even they are after him. They must not like me."
Taken 3 teams Neeson with newcomer Forest Whitaker, the law enforcement officer entrusted with bringing Mills to justice. And according to the actor, he was as big a fan of Neeson as anyone.
"People are attracted to quiet heroes," said Whitaker. "Liam's presence has that. He gives people a sense of comfort and security. And he's an excellent actor."
Taken 3 runs into cinemas in January.
