Liam Payne loves nothing more than to get our hopes up and refer to Cheryl as his ‘wife’, but alas it looks like they haven’t actually already tied the knot after all.

It all kicked off recently when Liam was chatting in an interview about his recent songwriting experience, when all of a sudden he was calling Chezza his Mrs.

"To be honest with you, I don't know yet what it's like to write while being a father. I have not passed through this experience,” he began.

"I have something that I'm preparing with Timbaland, and I was writing with Pharrell when his wife was pregnant – along with my wife, for that matter."

See! He totally says wife! But he’s since addressed the situation with People mag, insisting he didn’t mean it like that.

“In the UK, you say 'the Mrs'. Maybe one day [we'll get married],” he told the mag.

Aww, well we’re just sit and wait for out invite in the post then.
