Liam Payne Finally Reveals The Truth Behind That Bizarre X Factor Stage Exit

Liam Payne has finally discussed what was actually going on when he made a swift exit from the X Factor and it turns out he was just following instruction when he left the stage. 

For anyone who missed the moment in question, the singer had just finished performing Bedroom Floor when it looked like he wandered off stage, grabbed his "missus", and left out the front entrance.

Revealing that this wasn't actually the case at all, Liam told The Mirror at the Pride of Britain Awards that he found all the criticism over his movements genuinely hilarious. 

He revealed: "Producers told me to go this way and it looked like I was going out the front, bossed off the stage and took my missus and buggered off.

"But that's what I got told to do and I got so much stick for it," he explained. "It was hilarious, storming off the stage and taking my missus."

At the time, fans were perplexed by his sudden exit, taking to Twitter to write: "Why did Liam just walk off the stage like that to Cheryl, I thought he was going to propose  [🤣]  #XFactor"

Another said: "Liam casually getting in the way so he can leave the stage to go to Cheryl #xfactor," while someone else said he was "unprofessional" to leave the show immediately after singing.

It just goes to show that sometimes things aren't always what they seem. On the plus side, at least Liam can see the funny side of this one.
