Liam Payne is about the heat up the cold winter that good 'ole StormOphelia ushered in this week with his brand new single.

'Bedroom Floor' is the saucy title of the upbeat track, which he has just previewed on his Instagram - along with a teaser of its sexy-moody music video.

While we expected an R&B slow jam from the title, the new single sounds like a funky pop banger with a hint of tropical house thrown in for good measure.

Tropical house-pop in October? He must be mad - it's almost Halloween, Liam!

Co-written by Charlie Puth and Jacob Kasher - the man behind hits by Britney Spears, Selena Gomez and Nicki Minaj - it shouldn't come as a surprise that'Bedroom Floor' sounds like a massive pop anthem, although it's unexpected after the throwback R&B vibe of his debut.

Liam has also previewed the bedroom banger's dark music video that may or may not be inspired by Fifty Shades, as we see the singer suited and booted on the edge of a messy bed.

Mr. Payne will see you now? We wonder if a certain Miss Tweedy will play Ana...

'Strip That Down', featuring Quavo, was a huge success, peaking at Number 3 in the UK and reaching the Top 10 of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, making Payne the third One Direction member to have a U.S. Top 10 hit after Zayn Malik and Harry Styles.

With 'Bedroom Floor' and Niall Horan's debut solo album both droppingthis Friday (October 20), it's going to be a wild day for the Directioners out there.
