13 Questions You've Always Wanted To Ask A Porn Star

....but that's not what web cam sessions are for, eh?

According to a study done by Marie Claire in 2015, over a third of women watch porn regularly, whilePornhub have revealed that 78% of men watch too. So basically the adult performers that are at the top of the porn game are watched by more people than the star of Love Island. Who knew?

And guaranteed there will be 300 interviews with Megan and Wes off the reality show when they come out, but where are all the chats with these erotic actors and actresses? Well look no further because we asked male XTube performers Son of the Sea and Tatt Twink everything you’ve ever wanted to ask a porn star...

But first, Courtney Act has some very important information on lube for you...

1. How did you get into the business?

Son of the Sea: “I started getting into porn because of my boyfriend. When I met him he was web-camming full time and after I would finish my shifts at Costco I would go over to his place and help with the live shows. I really enjoyed it, so we started making porn videos and uploading them to Xtube. Once we started making money we realised we could do this full-time, so we both started our amateur profiles, which ultimately then turned into a porn career.”

Tatt Twink: “My first taste of the amateur porn industry was through web-camming sites. I was already using them in my spare time for personal pleasure, so it was easy for me to imagine monetising an activity I already considered fun. I tried out a few different sites and eventually one caught on and I started to make some pretty decent money.”

2. When was the first time you saw porn?

Son of the Sea: “I would’ve still been in high school the first time I watched porn. I was on the family desktop computer in our basement and had to make sure the browser history was deleted afterwards, as no one knew I was gay. Porn was the tool that really helped me understand what my sexual feelings were.”

Tatt Twink: “I remember being at elementary school with male friends and being invited to a sleepover, so we could watch a heterosexual porn film called ‘Latin Lover’ on showcase in their parents’ garage. I quickly realised I was more interested in what was going on with my male friends than what was on the television. Porn definitely helped me realise I was gay.”

3. What do your friends and family think of your chosen career?

Son of the Sea: “At first, my family and friends were a little shocked by my decision to work in porn, I even lost a few friends when they discovered my content. Working in the adult entertainment industry really opened my mind and helped me learn who my ‘true friends’ are. Only people who are insecure in themselves would end a long-term friendship over a job choice. Everyone I have left in my life is extremely supportive of my choices and they are just as excited as I am for what the future has in store.”

Tatt Twink: “For the most part, my family and friends have been supportive. I think most of my family and friends were more surprised to learn that you could make a living from selling yourself online than by what I was actually doing. My family’s support throughout has definitely helped to keep me going long enough to be successful.”

4. Has working in adult entertainment made you more aware of your sexual health?

Son of the Seas: “Yes, seeing yourself on camera makes you look at yourself a little closer. When it comes to working with other models in the industry being safe is one of the most important aspects of making content. I looked to porn for knowledge about sex, and I know others are still doing so. Showing that sex is both steamy and safe is what we as porn actors need to be doing.”

5. Have you ever had a partner that just couldn’t deal with your job?

Son of the Seas: “I’ve been in a polyamorous relationship with my two amazing boyfriends for three years now. Two of us work in the adult entertainment industry but we have never let this affect our relationship. We talk about everything that we are doing for work and decide things as a unit. Being 100% transparent with your partners is the only way to make a relationship work, whether or not you work in porn.”

Tatt Twink: “I’ve definitely had boyfriends that have had a hard time with the idea of ‘sharing me’ sexually with another person. I’ve always tried to be transparent around my partners when it comes to business, so they know there’s nothing to hide.”

6. Are there things you do at home that you won’t do at work or vice versa?

Tatt Twink: "For the most part, I feel a lot of my amateur content reflects what I enjoy doing in the bedroom. I’m a lot more vocal on camera than I am in real life but behind the scenes I really feel in my element."

7. Have you ever fallen for a co-star?

Son of Seas: "Since some of my content is filmed with my boyfriends I guess my answer would have to be yes! These co-stars mean the world to me."

Tatt Twink: “I met one of my current partners in our polyamorous trio through doing videos together! We started slowly, spending more time together after video shoots, and here we are three years later.”

8. Is it all acting, or do you get any sexual pleasure?

Son of the Seas: “When you’re filming a scene, you have multiple things to be worrying about. You’ve got angles, lighting, length of video and the story all going through your head. I definitely experience some sexual pleasure while filming but during the majority of a shoot I am personally focused on getting a great shot for my viewers.”

Tatt Twink: “I’d say for the most part the sexual pleasure is real. The angles and cameras definitely do take away from the moment sometimes, but generally I’m always into it. I feel like the product wouldn’t be very good otherwise!”

9. What do you say to people who say porn is demeaning to women?

Tatt Twink: “When people look at porn in a violent or demeaning way, I think they’re missing the purpose. Some people want to feel used and abused and if both consent, I feel like they should be allowed to express themselves however they like."

10. What do you say to people who say porn is giving men an unrealistic view of sex?

Son of the Seas: “I wouldn’t say porn is giving men an unrealistic view of sex. I believe these men are deciding for themselves that the more unrealistic aspects of porn is what’s turning them on. If you like wilder, crazy sex you just need to find someone with the same interests. It’s not unrealistic because someone out there is being turned on for the same reasons."

11. What else would you be doing if not this?

Son of the Seas: “Before starting porn, I didn’t really have a ‘life plan’. I’ve been doing porn for a little while now and since I’m still young, I would love to try to branch out into the male fashion modelling side, as well as continuing what I am doing. I’ve always loved being in front of the camera, so my line of work fits my personality well.”

Tatt Twink: “If I weren’t doing amateur porn I’d likely get into tattooing or be involved in the tattoo industry somehow. I’ve experimented a bit (on myself) but would love to seek out a professional career one day down the road.”

12. What’s the most awkward moment you’ve ever had on set?

Son of the Seas: “If I had to pick something though, I guess it would be right in the beginning of my career when I had a harder time bottoming. At the time I was less experienced and had a difficult time relaxing myself to receive; I’d still get the content I wanted, but this would just slow down the filming process and was a little embarrassing for me. Thankfully, my partner was super understanding, and this isn’t an issue anymore! Now I’m much more comfortable filming in either position.”

Tatt Twink: “Well I’ve definitely had a few awkward moments over the years but nothing too crazy. Once, I had the top climax within a minute of filming, so we had to take a break and reset. Not the end of the world!”

13. What are the biggest misconceptions you think people have of people who make porn?

Son of Seas: “I believe the biggest misconception people would have about me, is that I am very promiscuous in my day-to-day life. When I’m home I have my relationship and that makes me very happy. Porn is my job and I do take it quite seriously; I flirt and post risqué photos, don’t get me wrong, but at the end of the day this is my job and my personal relationship is incredibly important to me.”

Tatt Twink: “I think the biggest misconception with people who make porn is that we have no standards or engage in prostitution. Most people ask this through online messaging, making it easy to politely decline these types of requests, assuring them I’m not that type of entertainer.”
