The Two Least Popular Emojis May Surprise You
Tip: it’s not the wink face.
Emojis have become such a staple of the 21st Century that a text doesn’t get sent without one, even if you’ve not cracked a joke, a laughing face gets added on just to ease the tone.
If you’re a bit of a creep then the wink face usually gets whacked at the end of every potential innuendo (stop this, FYI), and if you’re just trying to get through the day with minimal human interaction, then the thumbs up reply is your guy. See? Emojis are necessary.
But not all of them are needed apparently, as there’s an ongoing war between the least used emojis over who’s, well, the least used.
There’s a bot dedicated to revealing to the world which emoji isn’t being used to its full potential by the masses. The Least Used Emoji Bot tweets out almost daily which one nobody is giving any attention to. Sad, really.
The bot checks emojitrackers and uses the magic of science to determine the answer, and people on Twitter are very sad over the emojis that are being left behind. Especially when it came down to the Aerial Tramway Emoji.
It got even worse when the Tramway emoji was forced back into the loser seat by folk online combining their efforts to bring the Input Symbol and Latin Capital Letters emojis back from the brink.
Since then it’s been a rollercoaster of emotions amongst the emoji stans of the online world, but we’ll give you this: when you all pick a cause, you really do it justice.
Let’s be real here though, there’s always going to be a least used emoji.
