Corrie Star John Michie Says Death Of His 25-Year-Old Daughter At Bestival Was 'Tragic Mistake'
RIP Louella Michie.
The 25-year-old woman killed at Bestival has been named as Louella Michie, daughter of Holby City and former Coronation Street actor John Michie.
Despite initial reports of murder, John has spoken out to clarify the situation, saying that it was a 'tragic accident.'
Louella's body was found at the edge of the festival site in Dorset in the early hours of Monday morning after police were alerted to her disappearance around 1AM. A 28-year-old man was then arrested on suspicion of murder.
But Michie said his daughter's death was an accident and that the man who has been arrested was in fact Louella's boyfriend.
"We've lost our angel," he tells The Sun in a statement. "It's not murder - they were friends. It was just a tragic mistake, a tragic accident. This was not a murder. They were boyfriend and girlfriend."
"She touched so many lives," he continued. "She was so very positive, so bright, so out there. She had such energy. The tributes to her have been incredible."
Dorset Police said they had arrested a man "to enable officers to conduct an interview under caution to help establish the full circumstances."
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Derbyshire has since added: "Enquiries are now underway to establish how she died. A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course and this should give us more of an indication as to the cause of her death.
"We are working closely with the festival organisers and I would appeal to anyone with any information about the incident to contact Dorset Police."
