Demi Lovato Calls Out A Lovatic For Altering Her Body Shape In Their Fan Art
She's not cool with people making her boobs bigger.
We all know Demi Lovato is a badass. And having struggled with an eating disorder, come out the other side and fully embraced being an advocate for a healthy and positive body image, she isn't cool with people altering how she looks in pictures.
This doesn't just mean photoshopping either and over the weekend Demi politely called out a Lovatic for a piece of fan art that slimmed her waist and boosted the size of her boobs.
Never one to shy away from the #realtalk, Demi noticed the drawing a fan made of her as a mermaid and apparently decided to respond in the comments.
"Is that how my boobs should look?," she wrote. "It's gorgeous but that's not my body."
To be fair Demz, we don't know if you've noticed but you ain't got a tail either.
Seeing Demi's comments, the artist screengrabbed them and responded, saying: "If I make your waist slimmer and your boobs bigger to accentuate the fact that I drew you as a mermaid, a mythological creature, doesn't mean I say that you should look like that or all girls should look like that. That's how I imagine mermaids."
He adds: "I worked a lot on that drawing and i was proud of it, but not anymore."
We get that that sucks for the fan but at the same time, absolute fair play to Demi. It's nice to see someone pointing out that even if it is in a 'fantasy' setting, unrealistic beauty standards can still have a negative impact on what we perceive to be 'perfect' and what we feel like we should be aspiring to.
For for you Demi Lovato. YOU GO DEMI LOVATO.
