With millions of views on YouTube, the challenge involves someone being wrapped from head to toe in duct tape. The idea is that youare then filmed tryingto escape and while there have been many successful attempts documented online, Skylar was not so lucky.

After deciding to give it a go, hegot two friends to tape his hands and legs for him. But tragedy struck as he tried to escape and he fell head first into a window frame and without his hands to help steady him, he then fell hard onto theconcrete floor.

The impact caused extremely serious injuries to his face, resultingin a shattered eye socket and cheek bone. He also suffered a seizure and aneurysm as medics arrived.

“If he would have hit on it differently, an inch over, he could have died,” his mum, Sarah Fish, told KCPQ-TV.

“If his friend didn’t flip him over when he was having a seizure and choking up blood, he could have died.”

Luckily Skylar is now on the road to recoveryin hospital in Seattle, butis warning others about the danger in trying these online challenges.

"I'm just, actually, really lucky to be alive," he told abc7NYat Seattle Children's Hospital.
