F**k It Fridays: Alfie Deyes
Celebrating the power of just saying 'F**K IT'
Oh hi! Welcome to the first ever F**k It Friday - a new weekly feature from MTV Breaks that’s all about saying a big f**k yeah to the most excellent people who’ve said ‘F**k It’ (probably) and taken a leap of faith to make big things happen.
Cos it’s not about just having ideas – it’s about believing in yourself, and making them happen. AMIRIGHT?
So who’s first up in the FIF role call of honour? Drumroll….it’s YouTube royalty, Alfie Deyes.
In the days before YouTube stardom was even really a thing that existed, Alfie was making his now legendary weird and wonderful videos in his spare time for a bit of fun, while working in a shop to pay the bills.
One day he got a paycheck through for his YouTube videos, a small amount and only worth about 4 hours’ work in the shop but this was enough for Alfie. Rather than seeing the small earnings as an added bonus to his day-job, Alfie said ‘F**k It’ (probably) and quit his job there and then, so he could give his full attention to his passion, YouTube.
He’s now one of the biggest YouTube stars around with his own waxwork in Madame Tussauds, over 4 million subscribers and probably a bit more than 4 hours’ worth of pay in the bank. Way to slay, Alfie!
Have you ever said F**k It and taken a chance? Would you like to? Or want to nominate someone for next week? Hit us up on @mtvbreaks with your stories.
