F**K It Fridays: Chris Pratt
Celebrating the power of just saying 'F**K IT'
Oh hi! Welcome to F**k It Friday - a new weekly feature from MTV Breaks that’s all about saying a big f**k yeah to the most excellent people who’ve said “f**k it” (probably) and taken a leap of faith to make big things happen.
Cos it’s not about just having ideas – it’s about believing in yourself, and making them happen. AMIRIGHT?
So who’s next up in the FIF roll call of honour? Drumroll….it’s professional dinosaur BFF and galaxy traveller Chris Pratt!
Chris’ journey to superstardom has been unconventional to say the least and has actually included several “f**k it” moments.
He didn’t always have it all figured out either, Chris told Entertainment Weekly that when asked in school what he wanted to be he said, “I don’t know, but I know I’ll be famous and I know I’ll make a s— ton of money”. So far, so good.
Halfway through acting school at his local community college though, Chris decided that this wasn’t the way to achieve his ambiguous dreams and said “f**k it” (probably) and moved to Hawaii “set up camp on the beach and lived the dream”.
Unfortunately, though brilliant, this wasn’t quite the best way to go about achieving fame and fortune and Pratt was soon homeless and working as a waiter at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. While working one day, he spotted actress Rae Dawn Chong and said “f**k it” (not even probably, he’s actually been quoted saying “f**k it” on this one!) and went over to her saying, “You’re in the movies, right? I always wanted to be in the movies” to which she replied “do you act?”.
“Goddamn right I act! Put me in a movie!” Pratt responded despite having only half a semester in community college and no experience to his name. This confidence and ‘F**k It’ attitude landed him a role in Chong’s new movie ‘Cursed Part III’ (we all remember that classic right?!) and from there he launched his career as the glorious man-child megastar he is today. Great f**king, Pratty!
