F**K It Fridays: Miley Cyrus
Cos it’s not about just having ideas – it’s about believing in yourself, and making them happen. AMIRIGHT?
So who’s next up in the FIF roll call of honour? Drumroll….it’s our fave controversial pop-star/actress/Instagram goals giver, Miley Cyrus! So Miley may have been born into a famous family and grown up as a child star but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t taken some risks in her career. Miley’s risks have never been about making it though, but rather about making it as the most honest form of herself she can be. Back in the Hannah Montana days, or even the ‘Party In The USA Days’ (banger), Miley was poised to become America’s sweetheart, her young audience and Disney innocence hailing her a role model to kids everywhere. But, as we now well know, this wasn’t who Miley really is.
Miley wanted to do things a little differently and with the eyes of the world on her, did she shy away from expressing herself? Did she f**k. Miley said ‘f**k it’ (probably) and embraced her wild, wonderful, often naked true self and took the world by storm. From that infamous MTV VMA performance in 2013 onwards, Miley has held nothing back and as a result has gone on to great things. Her outspokenness, self-confidence and awesome charity work and LGBT activism with the Happy Hippy Foundation make her a stronger role model than she ever could have been as Hannah Montana. Way to be, Miley.
