There's Now A Way To See Who's Muted You On Twitter
Which is really very awkward, isn't it.
The mute function on Twitter might be the best thing that's been invented since both sliced bread and the forward-facing phone camera, but things are about to get a little awkward as it seems there might actually be a sneaky trick you can do to find out who has muted you.
If you're yet to discover this magical function, the idea is that you're able to stop someone clogging up your news feed with their spammy tweets without them knowing, as they would if you actively unfollowed them or blocked them.
However, the slight fly in the ointment is that it's not necessarily as anonymous as previously thought and there's reportedly a way to get around it to find out exactly who's got you on mute.
There's no way of simply pulling up a list of all the people who've muted you, but as The Independent have worked out, you can do it for individuals if you've got someone in mind that you have a suspicion has silenced your 140 character musings. a
Alll you need to do is open up Tweetdeck and once it's launched, all you have to do is make a new 'Home' column for the person in mind using their handle.
If your tweets don't then appear in the column it means that yes, they have muted you. You can double check this by sending a tweet and seeing if the column remains blank, but you almost certainly are muted as the purpose of the 'Home' column is to view Twitter as a specific person.
Of course the person has to have been following you in the first place for all of this to apply, but go forth and see who's muted you.
Just try not to overreact and send all of the sassy nail painting emojis when you find out exactly who has got you on mute. It's not like they'll see it anyway.
