Michael Phelps Is Going To Race An Actual Shark Because Sure Why Not
It's all for Shark Week aka the greatest week ever.
Erm excuse us, but we need to take a moment to indulge our inner shark (and Michael Phelps) obsession.
Michael Phelps is going to race a real life shark as part of Discovery Channel’s infamous Shark Week programming on July 23rd. Because when you’ve got 39 world records and 23 Olympic golds, what else is there left to do?
"They are one of the fastest and most efficient predators on the planet: Sharks. He is our greatest champion to ever get in the water: Michael Phelps,” a press release read.
“39 world records. 23 Olympic golds. But he has one competition left to win. An event so monumental no one has ever attempted it before. The world's most decorated athlete takes on the ocean's most efficient predator: Phelps V Shark – the race is on!"
Literally how is this a thing that is happening? Meanwhile Phelps also took to Twitter to express his excitement at it all:
“I was able to do something that I had always wanted to do. Be in a cage and dive with great White sharks!! #bucketlist,” he captioned the snap of the shark.
THIS. IS. INSANE.
